En Vogue is an American girl group formed in Oakland, California, in 1989. The original lineup consisted of singers Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones. They are known for a string of hit singles and albums that achieved commercial success in the US and UK, and have been recognized as one of the most successful female groups of the 1990s.

En Vogue was conceived by production duo Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy in the late 1980s. After auditions of approximately 3,000 women, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones were selected as a trio, but Terry Ellis was added after a late audition, forming a quartet. Their debut album Born to Sing (1990) produced the single 'Hold On', which reached No. 2 on the US Hot 100. The group's second album Funky Divas (1992) reached the top 10 in both the US and UK and included hits 'My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)' and 'Free Your Mind'.
In 1996, the single 'Don't Let Go (Love)' became their third US No. 2 hit and their fifth No. 1 on the US R&B chart. Dawn Robinson left the group in 1997 before the release of EV3, which reached the US and UK top 10. Maxine Jones left in 2001, and Amanda Cole joined briefly. Rhona Bennett joined in 2003. The original members reunited briefly in 2005 and again in 2009 for a 20th anniversary tour, after which Robinson and Jones departed again, leaving Bennett as part of a trio.
