Plot

Samantha Winston, a 22-year-old woman, returns to her hometown after 14 years to investigate her mother's untimely death. She believes her father, Jack Winston, murdered her mother, Kiva Dawson. Samantha had fled tragedy throughout her life: after her mother died when Samantha was eight, she lived with an aunt in Minnesota, who died in a car crash a year later. She then endured abusive foster families before running away at age sixteen. Back in her childhood home, she recalls loving memories but is haunted by her father's drunken rampages and her mother's sudden death at age thirty-two. Samantha seeks evidence from Lucas Drake, her mother's best friend and a funeral director, and her Uncle Thomas. As she digs deeper, dark secrets and evil plots in the town begin to surface.
