Psychefunkapus
Funk metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Psychefunkapus, a funk metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area, put out two albums on Atlantic Records in the early 1990s. Their name came from a love of psychedelic music and a P-Funk song about the coming "Funkapus." Formed in 1986 in California's San Geronimo Valley, they were a big deal in San Francisco clubs by 1988. Deftones played their first show opening for Psychefunkapus, and both Green Day and No Doubt also opened for them.
