History

Bleed came together in 2020 in Dallas, Texas, when Ryan Hughes, Noah Boyce, and Adam Ackerman, who had all played together in Garden of Mary, started the band. They shared their music with Carson Wilcox, a former bandmate of Hughes in Narrow Head, and he decided to join. Their debut EP, Somebody's Closer, came out independently on digital platforms on September 12, 2021, with cover art by Frank Maddocks, known for working with Deftones and Linkin Park. The band signed with 20 Buck Spin in 2022, which led to a physical reissue of the EP. On October 5, 2022, they put out the single "Killing Time," which was presented as an early taste of their first album and later re-recorded for that release. The song debuted at Knotfest the day before it dropped, and after its release, Bleed joined Narrow Head as support on their fall North American tour. Their self-titled debut album arrived on May 2, 2025. Alongside "Killing Time," the album had two other singles: "Marathon," which came with a music video directed by Colt Matheson, and "Enjoy Your Stay," featuring Olli Appleyard of Static Dress on vocals. This album marked the first time mixer Rubio N was listed as a band member; Rubio also plays guitar for Narrow Head under the name Rubio Richie. Following the album, Bleed toured with One Step Closer on the All You Embrace tour through May and June 2025. On July 29, 2025, they released a live EP with Audiotree, recorded on May 18. This release featured guitarist Brendan King filling in for Noah Boyce, though it remains unclear if this lineup change is temporary or permanent.
