Marceline remembers wandering the ruins with Simon.
"Simon & Marcy" is the fourteenth episode of Adventure Time's fifth season, aired on March 25, 2013. Marceline tells Finn and Jake that 996 years earlier, after the Mushroom War, she wandered the ruined land with the Ice King when he was still the human Simon Petrikov.

Background
In the flashback Simon is forced to use the crown, which gives ice powers but drains his sanity, and Marcy has to snap him out of it; that night he sings the theme from Cheers to cheer her up. It was Rebecca Sugar's last episode as a storyboard artist, was watched by 2.6 million people, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for short-format animation.
