Deliver Us Mars, a 2023 action-adventure title from Dutch developer KeokeN Interactive and publisher Frontier Foundry, continues the story of its predecessor, Deliver Us the Moon. Players step into the role of astronaut Kathy, who journeys to Mars to find her father, Isaac, and retrieve technology that might still rescue a dying Earth. The narrative explores Kathy’s family history, as Isaac abandoned a mission years earlier that could have prevented the planet’s ecological collapse.
Gameplay alternates between first-person puzzle solving and third-person platforming. The game launched on February 2, 2023, for Windows, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X/S.
Critical reception was mixed. PC Gamer noted that a limited budget kept the game from reaching its full potential, but still recommended it to fans of story-driven single-player experiences. Rock Paper Shotgun praised the story and platforming but disliked the puzzles, while IGN enjoyed the puzzles but found the platforming tedious, calling it “a chore.” IGN also commended the voice acting and story, though they felt performance issues and poor graphics undermined those strengths. Game Informer described the gameplay as “functional but underbaked,” comparing the experience to a performance of Macbeth by poorly-made animatronics. Push Square highlighted an “entrancing sci-fi story” and strong voice acting, but criticized terrain pop-in, bugs, poor performance, and tedious platforming. The game received a nomination for best audio at the 2023 Dutch Game Awards.
A sequel, Deliver Us Home, launched on Kickstarter on June 11, 2024.
