Gameplay

The 2011 Java-based mobile version is a side-scrolling top-down open-world action-adventure game. The player can traverse on foot or by horse, and missions involve fistfights, shooting, tailing, chasing, horse-riding, or setting off explosives. Weapons can be bought at shops, and non-player characters may be killed. Committing a crime in a Sheriff's line of sight raises a wanted level, making Sheriffs hostile; the player can hide or pay at churches to reduce it. The Wii version is an American Old West-themed light gun shooter where the player shoots targets such as vultures, balloons, flying sombreros, armed robbers, angry gold diggers, and renegade soldiers across environments like saloons, cemeteries, and a speeding steam locomotive. It has 6 levels across two difficulties with 3 challenges each, supports the Wii Zapper peripheral, and lacks aim calibration.

Reception

The Wii version received mixed reviews according to Metacritic. Official Nintendo Magazine praised the variety in settings, interactive environments, and simple point-and-shoot gameplay, though they felt genre experts might find it too easy. Nintendo Life found the game addictive, attractive, and well executed, highlighting the depth in shot selection for scoring, but noted disappointment in the limited objectives, settings, and enemies, and the lack of scoreboards affecting replay value. Eurogamer called it a rather limited and repetitive experience. 1UP.com considered it a little pricey at 1000 Wii Points. IGN also had issues with the price and shallow nature but praised the tight controls and polished presentation, calling it fun.
