Hugo Alcântara
Brazilian defender who played in Portugal, Poland and Romania.
Hugo da Silva Alcântara is a Brazilian football manager and former central defender. Born in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso on 28 July 1979, he spent most of his professional career in Portugal, amassing Primeira Liga totals of 138 games and four goals for Vitória Setúbal, Académica, Belenenses and União de Leiria. He also competed in Poland and Romania. He is the current manager of Dom Bosco.

Football career
Alcântara was born in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, and played for several modest clubs in his native region. In 2000 he was part of Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas' roster but played in no official games. He moved to Portugal with Vitória de Setúbal for the 2001–02 season, appearing in an average of 26 league matches over four years; the 2003–04 season was spent in the second division, with promotion. He helped the Sadinos win the 2005 domestic cup against S.L. Benfica, playing the full 90 minutes in the 2–1 final.
He spent 2005–06 with Académica de Coimbra, missing only seven contests as the team finished 13th. After one season in Poland and another with C.F. Os Belenenses—where he received a three-game ban for slapping Kostas Katsouranis—he joined CFR Cluj in Romania. He made his Liga I debut on 26 October 2008 in a 1–2 away loss to FC Politehnica Timișoara and was relatively used as Cluj won five major titles, including the 2010 national championship with 22 appearances and three goals.
In February 2011 he signed for Montedio Yamagata but left before the season started after the earthquake in Japan. On 4 April he joined Clube Atlético Paranaense, and after a three-month spell returned to Portugal with U.D. Leiria on 11 July 2011.
