2025–26 Los Angeles Lakers season

The 2025–26 Los Angeles Lakers season was the 79th season of the franchise, its 78th in the NBA, its 66th in Los Angeles, and its 27th at Crypto.com Arena. The Lakers won West Group B with a 4–0 record in the NBA Cup group stage but lost to the eventual runners-up San Antonio Spurs in the quarterfinals. They clinched the playoffs for the fourth straight season and a second consecutive Pacific Division title on March 31, and finished the regular season 53–29, fourth in the Western Conference. In the first round, they defeated the Houston Rockets in six games before being swept by the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Semifinals. Luka Dončić missed the end of the regular season with a left hamstring strain. This was the last season for public address announcer Lawrence Tanter, for LeBron James with the Lakers, and for owners Mark Walter and TWG Global, as the team was sold in August 2026 to Bob Iger and Joshua Kushner.
