Draft
The 76ers entered the draft with no pick. Their second-round selection was forfeited, along with a 2024 second-rounder, due to tampering violations. A first-round pick originally owed to Brooklyn was conveyed to Utah after the Nets deferred the asset, as Philadelphia finished with a better 2022–23 record than Brooklyn and Houston.
Game log
The 76ers played four preseason games, losing to Boston twice and winning against Brooklyn and Atlanta. The regular season began with a loss at Milwaukee, followed by wins at Toronto and at home against Portland. Joel Embiid scored 48 points against Washington and Tyrese Maxey had 50 points in a win over Indiana. Losses occurred to Indiana and Boston in mid-November. The team then won at Atlanta and at Brooklyn.
