Cash Trapped
Six contestants compete to escape with cash by answering questions.
Cash Trapped was a British quiz show on ITV hosted by Bradley Walsh, who also came up with the concept. It ran from 2016 to 2019. Each episode featured six contestants playing four rounds to build up prize money. Everyone stayed on the show until one person escaped in the final round. From the second series onward, contestants could leave at the end of an episode, but they lost all their winnings and were replaced by a new player starting from zero. The show received some criticism for its complicated rules and a broadcast error that spoiled the first episode’s result. Comedian Paul Sinha called the debut “weird,” while a BT reviewer found it enjoyable and innovative but not a classic.

Reception
Upon its premiere, viewers criticised the complexity of the format, and noted a continuity error which revealed the outcome of the first episode at the start of the show. Chaser Paul Sinha took to social media shortly after the episode aired and described the first episode of Cash Trapped as "weird". Frances Taylor of BT said that the show was "somewhat enjoyable. And if nothing else, the concept was innovative and offered something different to the majority of quiz shows on television right now. The beauty of The Chase is not only the thrill of, well, the chase – but also in the interactions between the Chasers, the contestants and Walsh himself. Cash Trapped was certainly enjoyable, but it wasn't a classic. The show was great."
