Pearlie

Synopsis

Pearlie is a fairy appointed by Fairy Headquarters to keep Jubilee Park in the city in order. She devises over-the-top plans for parties and events for the park and its residents, insisting that everything has to be perfect. She is assisted by Jasper, a kind-hearted elf who prefers not to do real work, and Opal, an Australian fairy sent to learn park management. Pearlie's jealous cousin Saphira, with her assistant Ludwig the bat, tries to spoil Pearlie's day, though Pearlie remains oblivious to her cousin's schemes.

Characters

Pearlie is the titular protagonist, a fairy who keeps Jubilee Park in sparkling order. She has green eyes, freckles, and light blonde hair with light turquoise highlights. Opal is an Australian Outback fairy sent to North America by the Fairy Council to learn Advanced Park management; she uses a magic lasso instead of a wand and lives in a hollow log at the edge of the desert garden within the park. Saphira is Pearlie's vain, lazy, evil cousin and the main antagonist, who calls herself the Queen of Darkness and wears only sapphire blue; in the books her name is Sapphire.

Great Aunt Garnet is Pearlie's well-meaning but absent-minded great aunt who runs a store of potions and lotions inside a clock tower across the road from the park; she used to be a Fairy Godmother. Fern is a wood nymph with red/orange hair who is Jasper's crush; she appears in three episodes and her wand is a twig. Laverne is a seasonal fairy in charge of Spring, dressed in pink and green with green wings. Oriana is a plus-sized summer fairy who wears a skirted bathing suit.

Leif is a fall fairy who has a crush on Pearlie, and Saphira has a crush on him though he does not return it. Noel is the winter fairy with a white mustache, wearing mostly blue winter clothes. Coral is Pearlie's mother and Saphira's aunt, described as fun, sweet, thoughtful, kind, and more mature than Pearlie.
