Production

The show was a longtime idea of DeVine's, inspired by house parties he had attended and by The Larry Sanders Show. DeVine and Scotty Landes wrote the scripted scenes. Kyle Newacheck, DeVine's costar on Workaholics, co-created the show, directed it, and occasionally appears onscreen as the director of the show-within-the-show. Many of the performing comedians are friends of DeVine's from his stand-up career.
