Reception

NBA Live 15 received mixed reviews, with most critics acknowledging it as an improvement over its predecessor. IGN rated it 5.5 out of 10, noting that while the game looks significantly better than NBA Live 14, it still suffers from clumsy controls and stiff animations, and that a few nice additions and game modes cannot compensate for poor gameplay. GameTrailers gave it a 5.7 out of 10, stating that although it is a big improvement and a step in the right direction, the game forgets that basketball is a team sport because dunks are overpowered, making ball movement and teamwork pointless. Electronic Gaming Monthly awarded it a 4.5 out of 10, commenting that NBA Live 15 does not deliver believable player movement, shooting, or gameplay flow, and that the series continues to struggle to escape the shadow of NBA 2K.
