Vida Halimian began appearing in international competitions in 2007, placing 10th at the Asian Outdoor Championships in Xi'an. Over the following years she participated in Asian Grand Prix events in Tehran and Dakha, and at the 2009 World Outdoor Championships in Ulsan she finished 28th individually and 16th in the women's team event. In 2010 she won World Cup team medals in Antalya and Shanghai, and took titles at the World University Championships in Shenzhen. At the 2011 World Outdoor Championships in Turin she placed 17th individually and earned a women's team medal. She also reached the 4th place at the World Cup Final in Istanbul that year. Her later career included Asia Cup and World Cup appearances through 2022, with podium finishes in mixed team and women's team events.
