Reader's Guide

The rosters for the women's baseball tournament at the 2015 Pan American Games represent a key moment in the development of women's baseball in the Americas. Five nations—Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico, United States, and Venezuela—fielded teams, each limited to 18 athletes. The rosters included players designated as catchers, infielders, outfielders, pitchers, and, for Puerto Rico and Venezuela, utility fielders.

These rosters are significant because they document the official participation of women in a Pan American Games baseball event, highlighting the growing recognition of women's baseball at a major multi-sport competition. The inclusion of utility fielders as a distinct position in some rosters reflects the flexibility required in women's baseball. The rosters also show the timing of team selections, with Canada and the United States announcing their squads in May 2015, while all final rosters were confirmed by July 19, 2015.
