Luisa Wilson

Luisa Wilson San Román (born 5 August 2005) is a Mexican ice hockey player. She plays for the North York Storm Prep U18 AA in Toronto, Canada, competing in the U18 AA division of the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHL). Wilson made history as the first Mexican to win an Olympic medal in a Winter Olympics sport when she earned a gold medal in the girls' 3x3 mixed tournament at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland, on January 15, 2020. She also won a bronze medal with the Mexican national under-18 team at the 2020 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship – Division II Group B.

Born in Celaya, Guanajuato, to a Mexican mother, Laura San Román, and a Canadian father, Brian Wilson—a chiropractor in Mexico City and assistant coach for the Mexico women's national ice hockey team—Wilson began playing ice hockey at age two or three and also practiced figure skating. At the 2020 Youth Olympics, she played on the Yellow team in the 3x3 mixed tournament, alongside athletes from several countries, defeating the Black team 6–1 for the gold. In the 2020 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship, she played five games and scored two goals, helping her team beat New Zealand 6–3 for the bronze. Wilson has expressed interest in representing Mexico at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. In 2020, Forbes listed her among the 100 Most Powerful Women of Mexico, and her name is inscribed on the walls of the Olympic Museum, making her the second Mexican woman to receive that honor after Enriqueta Basilio. She splits her time between Toronto and Mexico, living with her parents and brothers.
