Vernaccia
A white grape with many clones, best known in Tuscany.
Vernaccia is a white wine grape found in many Italian wines, most notably in Tuscan Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Ampelographers have identified many clonal varieties but note that some Italian vines called Vernaccia, such as those in Sardinia and the Marche, are unrelated. The name Vernaccia may derive from various local vernaculars.
