White Wine Grape Varieties from Italy Codexery

Verdello (grape)

A late-ripening Umbrian white grape used for acidity in blends.

Verdello is a white Italian wine grape variety primarily grown in the Umbria region of central Italy, where it serves as a minor blending component in several DOC wines, including Orvieto. Despite its name, it is not genetically related to the Portuguese grape Verdelho. The name likely derives from the dark green color of the berries before veraison.
