Albanello bianco

Sicilian white grape used for dried-grape dessert wines.

Albanello bianco is a white wine grape from Sicily, historically used for sweet dessert wines made from sun-dried grapes. It was an important component in the rare Marsala-style wine Ambrato di Comiso. Plantings have declined, with 125 hectares recorded in the 2000 census, nearly all in Sicily.
