Traminette is a wine grape variety resulting from a cross of Joannes Seyve 23.416 and Gewürztraminer, created by Herb C. Barrett around 1965 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It was developed for wine quality, cold hardiness, and disease resistance, and is the signature wine of Indiana.
