Mike Gartner is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played as a right winger for 19 seasons in the NHL, primarily for the Washington Capitals. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001 and had his number retired by the Capitals in 2008.

Gartner was traded to the Minnesota North Stars on March 7, 1989, during the 1988-89 season, along with Larry Murphy, for Dino Ciccarelli and Bob Rouse. He left the Capitals as the team's all-time leader in career goals, but not in assists or points.
