Plot

Demonic creatures called Narazaru secretly manipulate the world. Some wish only to coexist with humanity, while others seek to open the Demon Gate and claim the earth. The protagonist, Kumon Katsuki, is a Japanese college student who lost his parents in an accident and is cared for by his landlady. He has one blue eye and one red eye. His younger sister Kumon Megumi attends boarding school in England but visits him occasionally. His best friend Makimoto Misae supports him through hardships. Katsuki experiences strange dreams of a black-haired maiden with a black umbrella who speaks to him, and soon begins seeing her while awake. This leads him to uncover the existence of the Narazaru and his own vital role in either saving or destroying the world.

Characters

Kumon Katsuki is the main character, a college student with a tragic past. Depending on his actions, he evolves to play a major role in the world's fate. In all paths, he eventually receives Demon Blood and gains a demon-human hybrid form with superhuman strength, speed, endurance, regenerative abilities, razor-sharp talons, and the ability to fire energy blasts. He can follow three different paths based on which heroine he trusts. Ignis is a Demon Hunter with fiery red hair and an attractive figure. She is an expert martial artist skilled with a katana and other weapons, able to match Narazaru in battle despite lacking superhuman abilities. Though friendly and attracted to the hero, her overzealousness has earned her enemies among good-aligned demons. Kaze no Ushiro wo Ayumumono, called Kazeko, is a wolf demon who appears as a child but is likely much older. She possesses demon powers including transformation into a wolf. Initially hostile to Ignis, she can become the hero's mentor depending on his choices. It is Kazeko who gives the hero his powers when her blood mingles with his. She is playful and immature but good-hearted, and helps the hero on every route.
