History
Launched in 2022 as a pandemic-era solution for limited in-person vet access, Dial A Vet started with video consultations for remote pet assessments. The service went international in 2023, reaching Canada, the US, and the UK. In 2024, it bought the domain SpeakToAVet.com and reported around AUD 1 million in revenue. That same year, it teamed up with Australian pet care firms Mad Paws and Lyka. Business Wire highlighted that Australian employers were offering the service as a workplace perk for productivity and well-being, while Programming Insider noted the platform’s vet-reviewed blog drew over 100,000 monthly visitors. By late 2024, Dial A Vet stated it served 7 million Australian households.
Services
Dial A Vet lets pet owners speak with Australian-licensed vets for 15-minute virtual appointments covering issues like stomach problems, skin issues, minor injuries, behavior, and preventive care. People can book through the website, a mobile app, or a browser platform. The service also runs a blog with vet-reviewed articles and offers a free Ask A Vet feature for submitting pet health questions. By 2024, the company had worked with over 250 veterinary professionals and received more than 40,000 inquiries through Ask A Vet.
