Janmark began his professional career in Sweden with AIK Stockholm, making his Elitserien debut during the 2011–12 season. After being drafted by Detroit, he was traded to the Dallas Stars in March 2015 before ever playing for the Red Wings. He made an immediate impact in his NHL debut, scoring a goal on his first shot 99 seconds into the game. A knee injury caused him to miss the entire 2016–17 season. After four seasons with Dallas, he signed with the Chicago Blackhawks as a free agent in October 2020.
