Background
Her background: she grew up adoring her father and resenting her mother, studied at Smith College and Yale Law School, and married Andrew Meyer, a shady property developer, with whom she has a daughter, Catherine; she later divorces him over his affairs. Her party is never named.
Seasons 1-3: after losing the primaries to Stuart Hughes she becomes his running mate, and as Vice President she is ignored and handed trivial causes. In season 3 she plans to challenge him, until Hughes suddenly resigns and she becomes President.
Seasons 4-5: she runs for a full term against Senator Bill O'Brien. The election ends in an Electoral College tie, the House cannot pick a winner, and the Senate's choice for vice president, Laura Montez, becomes President, leaving Selina out of office.
Seasons 6-7: she writes her memoir, runs a charity and hunts for a site for her library, then runs again in 2019. In the finale she wins her party's nomination by making Jonah Ryan her running mate and finally wins the presidency.
