Plot

Sam, a lifelong vampire enthusiast, is offered a job as an assistant to a real vampire on his 21st birthday. He accepts and meets Simón Bolívar, a 400-year-old vampire. Sam discovers that the reality of serving a corrupt and neurotic vampire is far from the romanticized fantasy he imagined.

Inspiration

Kody Zimmermann conceived the idea while reading Dracula and working as an actor's assistant. He saw the vampire as a metaphor for a terrible boss and was interested in the Renfield character. Zimmermann wanted to explore what kind of person would devote themselves to a sinister being while still calling themselves human, bridging the experience of serving a greater being while being caught up in insanity.
