Anders Eriksson (ice hockey, born 1985)

Playing career

Eriksson was born in Floda, Sweden, and grew up in Gothenburg with Frölunda HC as his youth team. At age 19, he signed his first professional contract with Borås HC of the Swedish Division 1, the third tier. In the 2006–07 season, he recorded 21 goals and 41 points in 42 games, helping Borås reach the 2007 HockeyAllsvenskan Kvalserien. There he scored 5 goals and 8 points in 8 games, and Borås finished second in the Kvalserien, earning promotion to the HockeyAllsvenskan for 2007–08. Eriksson remained with Borås for three seasons, contributing to the team's survival in the second tier; his final season there produced 14 goals and 28 points in 51 games. Prior to the 2010–11 season, he signed with Växjö Lakers, who aimed for a third consecutive Kvalserien qualification. In the regular season, he scored 12 goals and 33 points, and the Lakers won the HockeyAllsvenskan for the first time, advancing to the 2011 Kvalserien. Eriksson had a major breakthrough there, finishing fourth in the scoring league with 7 goals and 11 points in 10 games; four of his goals were game-winning ones, winning the GWG league. He played his first Elitserien game on September 13, 2011, against Frölunda HC, but did not score as Frölunda shut out the Lakers 2–0. After four seasons with Örebro HK, he left as a free agent to try out with Färjestad BK for 2016–17. Released from that try-out on September 11, 2016, he returned to train with Örebro HK and was re-signed on September 26, 2016, to a temporary seven-week contract covering initial injuries on the roster.
