Flowey
A malevolent, soulless flower who abides by a 'kill or be killed' philosophy.
Flowey the Flower is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the 2015 video game Undertale, developed by Toby Fox. Flowey is the first NPC the player encounters in the game and introduces himself as a "friendly" and "helpful" talking flower, before quickly revealing himself to be a malevolent, megalomaniacal, and homicidal entity who abides by a "kill or be killed" philosophy. Flowey is the final boss of Undertale's "Neutral" route; after absorbing the souls of the six fallen humans, he evolves into a grotesque form known as "Omega Flowey", alternatively known as "Photoshop Flowey". In the "True Pacifist" route, he additionally absorbs the souls of every monster in the Underground, and reveals that he is Asriel Dreemurr, the son of Toriel and Asgore, reincarnated as a soulless flower.

Lore & Background
Flowey began as Asriel Dreemurr, the son of Toriel and Asgore. After Asriel absorbed the soul of his adoptive human sibling Chara and crossed the barrier, humans who wrongly took him for Chara's killer attacked him, and he refused to fight back and died. Some time later Alphys, experimenting with Determination, injected it into one of Asgore's golden flowers that held remnants of Asriel's dust, and Asriel was unintentionally revived as Flowey, a sentient flower. Without a soul he lacks empathy and compassion. He first tried to end his life, but instead of dying he found that the Determination let him Save and Reset time, a power he used to act outside the laws of the universe before the human fell into the Underground.
Reader's Guide
Flowey is the first character the player meets. He introduces himself as a friendly, helpful talking flower, then states his "kill or be killed" philosophy and tries to kill the player until Toriel drives him away. He turns up again after the fight with Toriel to judge whether the player spared or killed her. On a Neutral route he is the final boss: he kills Asgore, absorbs the human souls the king had been collecting and becomes Omega Flowey, also called Photoshop Flowey, a form that can destroy the player's save file and use save states.
Once beaten he can be killed or spared, and a spared Flowey returns after the credits of later playthroughs with hints toward the True Pacifist ending. On that route he also absorbs the souls of every monster in the Underground, reveals that he is Asriel and fights as the God of Hyperdeath; when the player calls out to him he regains his empathy and returns to his child form long enough to break the barrier. On the Genocide route he believes the player is his former sibling, realizes they mean to kill him too, and is killed by the protagonist after the fight with Sans.
