History
Kolpa came together in Istanbul back in 2005, founded by Bora Yeter on bass and Barış Yurtcu on vocals, two musicians who had spent their high school years in Adana. Matthew Erdem produced the record, and it was put out by Mucize İşler, a division of the Pasaj Müzik label. After the band dropped music videos for "Sayende" and "Koşa Koşa," percussionist Samuray Gökçe joined the lineup. In February 2010, work began on their first extended play. That EP, a collection of five cover songs, came out as Maximum on March 23, 2010, through Pasaj Müzik. The lead video from it, "Böyle Ayrılık Olmaz," climbed to the top spot on several national charts. The music video featured Serbian model Sara Vulovic and Turkish actor Murat Prosçiler. It contained ten songs. Another cut from that album, "Hiç Bitmez Bu Masal," served as the theme for Show TV's series Pis Yedili, and the band appeared as guests in two episodes of the show. Their third studio album, Aşk ve Hayat Hakkında, arrived via Pasaj Müzik in January 2014.
