Micronesian navigation refers to the wayfinding techniques used for thousands of years by navigators voyaging among the thousands of small islands in the western Pacific subregion of Micronesia. These techniques relied on stars, birds, ocean swells, wind patterns, and oral tradition, and were also held by Polynesian and Santa Cruz Islands navigators.

Micronesian navigators are considered a subset of Austronesian peoples who first invented oceangoing sailing technologies such as double-hulled canoes, outrigger boats, and crab claw sails. The Mariana Islands were settled around 1500–1400 BCE from the Philippines, with later migrations from the Caroline Islands and Island Southeast Asia. Regular contact occurred between the Caroline Islands and the Marianas, as well as rare voyages to the eastern Philippines.

In the 20th century, master navigator Mau Piailug from Satawal earned the title palu by age eighteen in 1950. Concerned that traditional navigation would disappear, he shared his knowledge with the Polynesian Voyaging Society, helping recreate Hawaiian techniques on the canoe Hōkūle‘a. In 1968, Hipour from Puluwat navigated David Henry Lewis's ketch from Puluwat to Saipan and back using traditional methods. In April 1970, Repunglug and Repunglap sailed a traditional outrigger canoe from Satawal to Saipan, using a small compass but relying on stellar and wave knowledge.
