Hayase
A warrior who kills a child and hunts an immortal across centuries.
Hayase is a warrior from the Yanome region who takes an obsessive interest in Fushi and his ever-developing otherworldly abilities. She first appears trying to sacrifice young March and later kills her. She serves as a primary antagonist for the first few arcs of the manga and first season of the anime. Her descendants and reincarnations devote themselves to protecting Fushi in her stead, carrying on her twisted bloodline as a cult-like unit called the Guardians.
