Lore & Background

Commonly known as Las Amazonas, Tigres Femenil is one of only five clubs that have won the Liga Femenil title, and the most successful one with a record seven league titles, two more than their city rivals Monterrey. The club was founded on December 5, 2016, the same day the Liga MX Femenil was announced. Tigres Femenil obtained its first league title by winning the Torneo Clausura 2018, defeating Monterrey in the final on penalties after a 4–4 draw on aggregate. The second leg of that final was at the time the highest attended club match in women's football history. Tigres won back-to-back titles in the Guard1anes 2020 and Guard1anes 2021 tournaments, becoming the first team in the league to do so. The club has also won the Apertura 2022 and Apertura 2023 titles, and has been runners-up in the Apertura 2018, Apertura 2019, Apertura 2021, and Apertura 2024. Tigres won the Campeón de Campeonas in 2021 (the only edition held as of early 2025; the 2022 edition was won by Monterrey, and no editions took place in 2023 or 2024). In international play, Tigres reached the final of the inaugural Concacaf W Champions Cup in the 2024–25 season, though the final had not yet been played as of early 2025.
