Plot
Returning from six months of fruitless prospecting, the Stooges find an orphaned young woman and her incapacitated younger brother, Jimmy, living in their shack. They show compassion upon learning of Jimmy's physical challenges, and Curly offers to help with his studies. While searching the dump for a replacement tire, Curly discovers a can full of coins, which he calls "canned coin." This leads to a frantic search of other cans, but the money belongs to Jimmy's sister, who has been saving for his operation.
The Stooges try to earn interest on the sum at a bank, but learn it would take over a century to reach their goal. Two confidence men swindle them out of $62 and their car in exchange for a treasure map. Following the map, the Stooges accidentally break into the United States Treasury. They begin gathering stacks of currency, thinking they have struck gold, but are quickly arrested. President Franklin D. Roosevelt pardons them and offers to pay for Jimmy's surgery.
Production notes
The Three Stooges show an unusual soft side in this film, playing miners who assist a disabled orphan in funding his leg operation. The title, a common phrase at the time, was later used by tabloids for Cary Grant and Barbara Hutton. Clyde Bruckman's story was reused for Andy Clyde shorts. Con men Nick Copeland and Lew Davis returned in the next Stooges film.
