Xu Jie

Xu Jie is a character from The Poppy War series. He meets the protagonist, Rin Fang, for the first time at Sinegard Academy, where they become classmates. Unlike Rin, who is originally from the village of Tikany, Xu Jie comes from a family of wealthy landowners—his father is a magistrate. After his time at Sinegard, he does not serve in the military but instead becomes a government official in the capital. His relationship with Rin is marked by Rin's one-sided romantic interest, and their estrangement stems from political differences rather than a tragic romantic bond.
