The Office! A Musical Parody

A musical parody of the American television series *The Office*, this production features a book and lyrics by Bob and Tobly McSmith, with music composed by Assaf Gleizner. Its first performances took place at The Jerry Orbach Theatre starting September 24, 2018, and it officially opened on October 3, 2018. The opening night cast included Sarah Mackenzie Baron, Michael Santora, Tom McGovern, Taylor Coriell, Katie Johantgen, Rebecca Mason-Wygal, and Ani Djirdjirian. Donald Garverick directed the off-Broadway run, with music direction by Tegan Miller and original casting by Lindsay Brooks. The show paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, then resumed on April 9, 2021, earning the distinction of being the first musical to stage a performance in New York City after the pandemic. Original series cast members Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey attended a show in May 2022. After a seven-year run, the production announced its closure for March 21, 2026, and held its final performance on April 11, 2026.
