Orange Sticker

"Orange Sticker," the fourteenth episode of *The Leftovers* overall, serves as the fourth installment of the second season. It aired on HBO in the United States on October 25, 2015. The episode was written by series creator Damon Lindelof and executive producer Tom Spezialy, with direction from Tom Shankland.

In the episode, Kevin attempts to avoid suspicion after being found in the lake where several girls disappeared. Meanwhile, Nora begins to doubt whether Miracle is as extraordinary as it has been portrayed. The plot follows the aftermath of an earthquake in Jarden: Nora, alarmed by Kevin's absence, faints when she learns Evie has vanished. Kevin claims he woke up in the lake with no memory of how he got there, and his palm print is found on the missing girls' car. Later, John confronts Isaac, believing he is responsible for the disappearances, but is shot in the stomach. Kevin helps John get treated by Erika, who explains that the Departure changed John from a pacifist. Nora visits Matt, who reveals that Mary briefly woke up after their arrival but then returned to a catatonic state. Michael tells Jill that the "verified" orange stickers on houses indicated where no one vanished—which was every home in Miracle. Kevin is confronted by Patti, who claims he tried to kill himself that night and that the girls' disappearance was a second Departure. Nora, wanting to avoid waking alone again, handcuffs herself to Kevin while they sleep. The episode ends with Jill watching Michael remove the orange sticker from his house.

According to Nielsen Media Research, the episode was viewed by an estimated 0.519 million households, with a 0.3 ratings share among adults aged 18–49—a 34% drop from the previous episode. Critics gave it extremely positive reviews, praising the return to Jarden, character development, performances (especially Carrie Coon), and pacing. Rotten Tomatoes reported a 100% approval rating with an average score of 8.67/10 based on 10 reviews.
