The blacksmith who left Faldor's farm to join the quest for the Orb of Aldur.

Durnik is the blacksmith on the large, prosperous farm where Garion spends his childhood. He is introduced as Garion's friend, sharing in early games and memories in Aunt Pol's kitchen. When Belgarath, alias 'Mister Wolf,' announces the theft of the Orb, Durnik reluctantly accompanies Garion, Aunt Pol, and Belgarath to pursue the thief.
