Plot
Pim and Putt are a brother and sister in their teens. Pim is a well-liked cheerleader at school, while Putt is more of an outsider and uses a leg brace for reasons that are never explained. Their mother, Mai, is a single parent who works and has just been given a promotion with a better salary. One afternoon, Pim arrives home from school and finds Putt playing video games with his friend Fame. Fame follows Pim upstairs and attempts to push his way into her room while she is getting changed. Because of his injured leg, Putt cannot get up the stairs to stop him. After being rejected, Fame reminds Putt that he has a mysterious video, which seems to be enough leverage to force Putt into doing whatever Fame wants. Pim calls her mother to ask when she will be back and to tell her about Fame, but Mai says she has to stay late for a work meeting. A heavy rain begins, and while driving home, Mai gets into a car accident. Back at the house, Pim answers the door to a man who introduces himself as her grandfather, Phong, and tells her about the crash. At the hospital, they find their mother in a coma in the intensive care unit. They also meet their grandmother, Wan, who accidentally calls Putt "Krit" and insists that the teenagers stay at her house in their mother's old room. She claims that Pim and Putt lived there when they were young, but neither of them remembers that time. Their grandfather explains that Wan has dementia and may act oddly; he asks them to help take care of her while they stay and not to take any upsetting things she does personally. After going back to get their cat Latte, Putt finds a hole in the wall of their grandparents' house. Looking through it, he sees a house that looks like their grandparents' but is run-down, and a figure with dark hair. He tells Pim, but she does not believe him. At dinner, Pim asks where Latte is, and Wan says she let the cat outside, which makes Putt very upset. Pim tells her grandfather about the hole, but when she tries to show him, he cannot see it, and neither can Wan. They think the children are making it up and become angry, especially Phong, who walks off. Wan stares at an empty spot on the wall where a clock used to hang and tells Pim and Putt it is bedtime. In their room, the siblings wonder if their grandparents are deceiving them or if the house itself is playing tricks.
