Lore & Background
Buffalo's cold limited his outdoor games at Amherst Central High School, which retired his No. 6. Baltimore drafted him in the fourth round in 2013; trades sent him to Tampa Bay and then Oakland, where he debuted in 2020. The A's dealt him to Texas the next year, and he became the starting catcher, an All-Star in 2023 and part of that year's World Series champions. He began switch-hitting at about 12 because batting right-handed bored him.
