Phradmon
Argive sculptor placed fifth in the Wounded Amazon contest.
Last updated
Phradmon was a sculptor from Argos. Pliny places him as a contemporary of Polykleitos, Myron, Pythagoras, Scopas, and Perelius, around Olympiad 90 in 420 BCE, in an anecdote about a competition for a Wounded Amazon for the temple of Artemis at Ephesus, where Phradmon placed fifth. Scholars have sometimes assigned the Lansdowne type of Wounded Amazon to him, though his dating is disputed.
