History
WWF Mania originally had Todd Pettengill as its host. From 1993 to 1994, "Macho Man" Randy Savage joined him. Between December 1994 and July 1995, Pettengill co-hosted with Stephanie Wiand. The show’s exclusive feature matches were called by Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred Hayes until Mooney left in spring 1993, which led to Hayes being gradually removed from the booth.
After that, different announcers handled the weekly exclusive match, including Jim Ross and Gorilla Monsoon. The 1994 Slammy Awards ceremony was held during an episode of WWF Mania. In September 1996, the program was renamed WWF Blast-Off for the Superstation WGN, and Mania was discontinued, eventually replaced by WWF LiveWire. In the United Kingdom, Mania aired on Sky One on Friday nights and Saturdays at noon.
There, it acted as a recap show for Monday Night Raw until Raw itself premiered in the UK on Sky Sports in 1995. A UK VHS release of WWF Mania came out in 1994, hosted by Johnny Polo. That tape included a Ten-Man Tag Team match pitting I.R.S., Jeff Jarrett, Rick Martel, and The Headshrinkers against Tatanka, 1-2-3 Kid, Bob Holly, and The Smoking Gunns.
