Green Eggs and Ham is an American animated comedy adventure television series developed by Jared Stern for Netflix, based on the 1960 children's book by Dr. Seuss. Its first season premiered on November 8, 2019, and a second season, titled Green Eggs and Ham: The Second Serving, was released on April 8, 2022, loosely adapting the 1984 book The Butter Battle Book.

Premise
Sam-I-Am rescues a rare Chickeraffe from a zoo, intending to return it to its natural habitat. After accidentally swapping his briefcase containing the Chickeraffe with that of failed inventor Guy-Am-I, Sam and Guy embark on a road trip with E.B., a girl who wants the Chickeraffe as a pet, and her overprotective mother Michellee, who becomes a romantic interest for Guy. They are pursued by the evil poacher Mr. Hervnick Z. Snerz, two agents called the BAD GUYS, and the bounty hunter Goat. In the second season, set a week after the first, Sam, Guy, and E.B. travel to East Flubria to find Sam's biological mother Pam-I-Am, who has stolen the Moo-Lacka-Moo orb and is stopping a war between Yookia and Zookia.
Voice Cast
Adam DeVine voices Sam-I-Am, a hyperactive enthusiast of green eggs and ham who is Guy's best friend and Pam's son. Michael Douglas plays Guy-Am-I, a cantankerous failed inventor revolted by green eggs and ham, who becomes Sam's best friend, Michellee's husband, E.B.'s half-father, and father of Guy Jr. Ilana Glazer voices E.B. (Elanabeth) Weebie-Am-I, Michellee's 10-year-old plucky daughter and Guy's half-daughter. Diane Keaton portrays Michellee Weebie-Am-I, E.B. and Guy Jr.'s overprotective mother and Guy's wife; this was Keaton's final voice role before her death in October 2025. Keegan-Michael Key is the Narrator. Eddie Izzard voices Mr. Snerz, an arrogant businessman who wants to capture Mr. Jenkins, with Rob Paulsen voicing Little Snerz. Jeffrey Wright plays McWinkle, a serious BAD GUYS agent whose blue fur turns gray from stress. Jillian Bell voices Gluntz, McWinkle's optimistic rookie partner, and in season 2 also voices Hayzel, a Zookian guard. John Turturro voices the Goat, a brutal bounty hunter with a Spanish accent. Dee Bradley Baker provides vocal effects for Mr. Jenkins and various animal hybrids. Fred Tatasciore voices Yes-Man, Mr. Snerz's assistant.
Production
On April 29, 2015, Netflix ordered a series of thirteen episodes, with production expected to take three years and each episode costing five to six million dollars, making it the most expensive animated program at the time. Production companies included Warner Bros. Animation, A Very Good Production, A Stern Talking To, and Gulfstream Pictures. Animation services for season 1 were provided by Chromosphere Studio, Company 3 Animation, Folimage, Snipple Animation Studios, Tonic DNA, and Yowza! Animation; for season 2, by FuseFX, Snipple Animation Studios, Yowza! Animation, Digital eMation, Neon Creation, and Inspidea. The series was originally slated for autumn 2018 but premiered in autumn 2019. Netflix renewed it for a second season of ten episodes on December 21, 2019, loosely based on The Butter Battle Book. On October 8, 2022, Jared Stern announced no third season. The cast was announced on February 19, 2019. David Newman composed the music, his first score for a television series and first for an animated project since Ice Age (2002); he conducted a 79-piece ensemble of the Hollywood Studio Symphony for season 1.
