Broadcast history
Body Language took over the 4:00 pm Eastern time slot from the second version of Tattletales. Despite facing ABC's The Edge of Night, which was winding down a long run, the show struggled. Many CBS affiliates had long been preempting that hour for syndicated programming, which generated more ad revenue. Some stations delayed Body Language to the next morning, but it still drew only a small fraction of the audience that daytime hits like The Price Is Right and The $25,000 Pyramid commanded. CBS canceled the show in December 1985, and its final episode aired on January 3, 1986. On January 6, a revival of Card Sharks replaced it at 10:30 am, which pushed Press Your Luck to the 4:00 pm slot. After Press Your Luck ended on September 26, 1986, CBS gave the 4:00 pm time back to its affiliates.
