Haunted is an American horror drama that premiered on UPN on September 24, 2002. Shot in Vancouver, the series was pulled from the air on November 5, 2002 because of poor viewership. UPN broadcast only seven of the eleven completed episodes, though all eleven have since aired in later syndication.
The plot follows Frank Taylor, a former police officer whose son was abducted and never found. The loss destroys his marriage and career, driving him to become a private investigator focused on missing children. While trying to capture a suspect named Simon, a fatal confrontation leaves Simon dead and Frank critically injured. During a near-death experience, Frank sees his missing son. After waking, he discovers he can perceive and communicate with the dead. These ghostly encounters usually help him solve cases, but some spirits—including Simon—deliberately mislead or harm him.
The cast includes Matthew Fox as Frank Taylor, Russell Hornsby as Marcus Bradshaw, John Mann as Simon Dunn, Lynn Collins as Jessica Manning, Michael Irby as Dante, and Bree Michael Warner as Anna.
In September 2007, the series began airing on Sci Fi. Chiller picked it up in 2009 for daily marathons, and it continues to appear there irregularly. Universal HD ran a full-series marathon on October 31, 2010.
Phase 4 Films released the complete series on DVD on April 13, 2010. Kino Lorber issued a Blu-ray set of all episodes on May 29, 2018.
