Production
Eshanya Maheshwari took on the role of a college student. Filming happened mainly in Chennai, Mahabalipuram, and nearby locations in June 2015. That October, lyricist Kabilan Vairamuthu refuted suggestions that his words for one track held political undertones. For a different song, Thambi Ramaiah and Rajendran sang and appeared in a promotional clip. In December 2015, Escape Artists Motion Pictures signed on to distribute the film, improving its commercial outlook.
