Biography
Lemon Joy was founded in 1994 by four Russian–Lithuanians under the name "Этаж-3". The original members were Igoris Kofas, Olegas Semionovas, Maksimas Bambras and Sergėjus Grėjus. In 1996 the band renamed to "Lemon's Joy" and soon played its first concert alongside the Lithuanian rock band Airija in Kaunas. Early music focused on gothic rock and alternative rock, with distorted guitar riffs and prominent bass lines. That year the band won the Baddest Groups' Festival with the song "City of Berries", which became a number one hit on the radio station Ultra Vires. Later in 1996 they participated in the Roko Maršas festival, where they played their first Lithuanian single "Glostyk". The album of the same name won a Bravo trophy for best first album. In 1997 the band performed at the Rock Summer festival in Tallinn. The following year the group renamed to its current name and shifted to electronic music after bassist Sergėjus Grėjus left. The fifth studio album 1210, released in 2006, reached top positions in Lithuanian charts. The seventh album "Stebuklas" (2011) produced the Italo-disco single "Kažkada", which topped charts on several Lithuanian radio stations. The latest album "Willkommen" was released in November 2016.
