Gods of Silence is a Swiss melodic metal band that originally performed under the name Kirk. The group released two albums as Kirk before changing its name and issuing a third album as Gods of Silence.

Kirk era

Kirk was founded in 1994 with vocalist Thomi Rauch, guitarist Sammy Lasagni, bass player Daniel Pfister, keyboardist Bruno Berger and drummer Vito Cecere. Their debut album The Final Dance appeared in 2003 on Point Music Distribution. The band signed with Mausoleum Records and released Masquerade in 2014, produced by Dennis Ward. Reviews varied: Rock Hard gave 5 out of 10 for the first album and 7 out of 10 for the second; Scream Magazine rated Masquerade 4 out of 6; Powermetal.de gave 8.5 out of 10; Dangerdog awarded the highest possible score.

Gods of Silence era

The first album under this name, Neverland, was released in 2017 on Rock of Angels Records. Powermetal.de rated it 8.5 out of 10, the same score as Masquerade. Metal Hammer Germany gave 5 out of 7, while Craig Hartranft awarded 4.5 points and Metal Express Radio scored it 7 out of 10. Members Sammy Lasagni and Philipp Eichenberger also played in Panorama, which released Around the World in 2018.
