Johan David Kristoffersson (born 6 December 1988) is a Swedish racecar driver. He is an eight-time World Rallycross Champion, having won the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
In 2018 he won a record-breaking 11 out of 12 events in the championship. He is the son of former racing driver and Kristoffersson Motorsport (KMS) team owner Tommy Kristoffersson. In 2012 he also claimed the Superstars Series, Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, and Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia titles.
Racing career
Johan Kristoffersson began racing in 2008 for his father's team in the Junior Touring Car Championship, driving a Volkswagen and winning two races to finish fourth in the standings. The following year he moved up to the Swedish Touring Car Championship with KMS but scored no points in the main series, though he placed second in the Semcon Cup behind Viktor Hallrup. In 2010 he drove for Team Biogas.se over three race weekends. His breakthrough came in 2011.
Touring Cars
At Falkenbergs Motorbana he piloted a third car for Team Biogas.se in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship but retired from both races. He then took three fourth-place finishes in the next four races, followed by a third place in the second race at Ring Knutstorp and another third at Mantorp Park. Despite competing in just over half the season, he ended tenth overall. That year he also fought for the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia title against Robin Rudholm.
A false-start penalty in the first race of the final weekend cost him the championship, even though he won the second race. In 2012 Kristoffersson drove for Kristoffersson Motorsport under the Audi Sport KMS banner in the Superstars Series. He won five titles in a single year: Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, STCC, and all three Superstars Series categories (Italian, International, and Rookie). For the 2013 Superstars Series he joined Petri Corse and drove a Porsche Panamera.
Rally and Rallycross
He also competed in a European Rallycross Championship round that year in a family-run Volkswagen Scirocco. In 2014 he raced part-time in the FIA World Rallycross Championship with a Kristoffersson Volkswagen Polo, finishing third in Belgium. The next season he won in Portugal and added podiums in the UK, Spain, Turkey, and Italy, ending third in the standings. On 20 December 2018 it was announced he would join Volkswagen for the 2019 World Touring Car Cup season, partnering Mehdi Bennani and Rob Huff.
