Reception

A Change.org petition by Georgia Mantle demanded the game be pulled from Google and Apple stores. She argued that shooting 'dangerous Aboriginals' dehumanizes Indigenous people and normalizes racial violence. The petition gained over 20,000 signatures within a day, reaching more than 60,000 by January 16, 2016, and also requested an apology from the developer.

Response

On 16 January 2016, the game was removed from the Apple App Store, followed by removal from Google Play later that day. Videos of gameplay on YouTube were also removed. The petition closed on 17 January with 84,672 supporters, having achieved two of its objectives. Australia's Federal communications minister Mitch Fifield asked his staff for advice on the circumstances of its release and said he was appalled that anyone would develop such a game.
